In the year 446, at the baptism of King Clodoveo I (446-511), the French royal family toasted at the doors of the Reïms cathedral with the region's typical wines. This seemingly innocent gesture eventually evolved into a fruitful relationship between champagne and the French royal family (and the rest of the court as well). Today, without kings or courtiers, this relationship endures thanks to sparkling wines like Veuve Clicquot Rich Rosé. Who could possibly resist it?
