About Coto de Imaz Reserva

Wine is crafted to be savoured, tasted, and shared; but above all, it is produced to be lived. In any of them, regardless of the type, the process is an entire experience: from its inception on the vine to its maturation and bottling. If you wish to embark on this journey with a first-class seat, try tasting Coto de Imaz Reserva

Coto de Imaz Reserva is an exceptional single-varietal Tempranillo, one of those wines that never leaves anyone indifferent. Everything about it exudes pure passion. The most virtuous indulgence any wine enthusiast could experience. The origins of Coto de Imaz Reserva can be traced across the breadth and width of the D.O.CA Rioja, within the more than 800 hectares owned by the Coto de Rioja winery, spanning Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa, and Rioja Oriental. In all these regions, the same work philosophy prevails: cultivating vines with an unwavering pursuit of the highest quality. But this is not all. If being the largest viticulturist in the area were not enough, Coto de Rioja also collaborates with various local producers who strictly adhere to the same cultivation standards. Maintaining this quality in the vineyard enables the production of a wine of the utmost quality, preserving the status and reputation this winery has fiercely defended for over half a century.

This expertise translates into impressive facilities based in Oyón, in Rioja Alavesa, which have gradually expanded. Currently, few wines are crafted under the conditions Coto de Imaz Reserva enjoys, with stainless steel tanks, frequent pump-overs, and extended macerations lasting up to 18 days. These operations, where the wine's quality is at stake, are feasible thanks to the excellence of the equipment. Finally, Coto de Imaz Reserva is transferred to American oak barrels where it will remain for over a year. After this period, Coto de Imaz Reserva is bottled and once again left to rest in the bottle.

We are confident that while there are many wines, none are quite like Coto de Imaz Reserva: the perfect wine to begin experiencing this passion.
