About Zuccardi Valles Malbec
Each wine-producing country has its own outstanding wine regions. These are areas that, due to their intrinsic characteristics of climate, soil and altitude, produce specific premium wines of international prestige. While France has Burgundy and New Zealand has the Marlborough Valley, in the case of Argentina it is Mendoza. One family that has appreciated these innate qualities is the Zuccardi family. These winemakers planted the first vines in a small plot in the town of Maipú in 1963, and since then have not stopped growing as a brand, producing some of the highest-quality wines in the Uco Valley and even in the world.
Today, Sebastian Zuccardi, the third generation, has taken over and is eager to contribute his own ideas. To begin with, he explores the many microclimates and soils in the area to achieve Andean wines with a sense of place. This is shown at Zuccardi Valles Malbec. A red Malbec wine whose grapes are grown at the foot of the Andes Mountains in Mendoza and enjoy the benefits of an altitude of over 1000 metres, a cool, dry climate and a wide temperature range throughout the year. In the winery, the grapes are selected and destemmed to undergo alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperatures. Only 20% of the wine is then aged in second-use oak barrels before bottling.
Thus, with the aim of expressing the varietal character of Uco Valley Malbec grapes, Sebastian launches Zuccardi Valles Malbec. An energetic, fresh and lively red wine that shines on its own.
2020 | Zuccardi Valles Malbec 2020 is a supple red wine exuding aromas of ripe fruit, herbaceous undertones, and spicy accents. On the palate, it is vivacious, lustrous, and invigorating. This medium-bodied wine boasts pliable tannins, a profoundly fruity mouthfeel, and a clean, enduring finish. |
