About Tissot Chardonnay Les Bruyères

Tissot Chardonnay Les Bruyères is an organic monovarietal Chardonnay wine. It is produced by Domaine André et Mireille Tissot and belongs to the AOC Arbois, in Jura.

Domaine André et Mireille Tissot is a winery in Jura run by Bénédicte and Stéphane Tissot and founded in 1962. They cultivate their 35 hectares of vineyards certified organically and biodynamically in order to respect the vineyards and their surroundings as much as possible. It is one of the emblematic wineries in its area and produces some 28 different craft wines that express the typicity of the vinified grapes and their terroir.

The soils of the plots for Tissot Chardonnay Les Bruyères are clayey, standing on blue marl. The vineyard faces the south. Their vines are between 45 and 80 years old and the planting density is very high, so competition between the vines is strong. They produce little per plant, but their grapes are more balanced and concentrated. They are cultivated organically and biodynamically, and are certified for this.

Tissot Chardonnay Les Bruyères is made according to the traditional method. The harvest is pressed when it arrives in the winery and after racking the must statically it ferments under the action of native yeasts, those that were already on the grape. It ferments and is aged in barrels for about 24 months.
