Orange wine Biodynamic, Natural and Vegan.
Sybille Kuntz Organic Orange is a natural and biodynamic orange wine made by Sybille Kutz with the Riesling variety in the German denomination of VDP Mosel-Saar-Ruwer (Moselle).
After opening her own wine shop, Sybille Kuntz realised that the wines her family were making had much more to offer. So when she took over the family winery in the 80s, she began to get the best out of the vineyards by working according to organic and biodynamic principles. Through this work, she creates complex, fresh and modern wines.
Sybille Kuntz Organic Orange comes from organically and biodynamically certified vineyards. The vines are aged around 50 years old and planted in blue slate soils with a limited yield of one bottle per vine. The grapes not affected by bortrytis are harvested manually and very carefully in small boxes.
When they reach the winery, the Sybille Kuntz Organic Orange grapes are destemmed and crushed in open tanks. They are left to macerate and ferment spontaneously with skins for 6 months. The wine is then pressed and aged on fine lees in old 1,000-litre foudres for 6 months. It is finally bottled without being filtered or adding sulphur.
Sybille Kuntz Organic Orange is the first orange wine made by this German winery in Moselle. Orange wine is a type of white wine that macerates for a long time with skins, producing a complex wine with an intense orange colour.
2018 | Sybille Kuntz Organic Orange 2018 is an aromatic orange wine with citrus and floral notes and spicy touches. On the palate it is fresh, balanced and fruity. It reveals a delicious acidity and a curious bitter finish. |
