Strohmeier TLZ Sonne Nº7 is an ecological and natural orange wine made with the Sauvignon Blanc variety by the Strohmeier winery in the Weinland Österreich denomination, in Styria (Austria).
The winery is run by Christine et Franz Strohmeier, a couple of visionary natural winemakers. Located in the well-known green heart of Austria (Styria), they have 8 hectares of vineyards where everything they do is with the aim of expressing their terroir in the most natural way. Among the wines they make is the Trauben, Liebe und Zeit (grapes, love and time) range, which are white wines made with subtle amounts of skin contact and no added sulphur.
Strohmeier TLZ Sonne Nº7 is made with Sauvignon Blanc grapes planted in gneiss soils and with a high content of iron and silica. The vines are cultivated using organic agriculture with biodynamic treatments, like spraying grapes with whey instead of copper sulphate. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the carefully selected Strohmeier TLZ Sonne Nº7 grapes are destemmed and left in contact with the skin for 2 hours. Then spontaneous fermentation begins with native yeasts for 11 months in used wooden barrels. It is finally bottled without clarifying, filtering or adding sulphites.
TLZ Strohmeier TLZ Sonne Nº7 is a natural wine macerated in skins that is made with craftsmanship, love and time. A very appealing, lively, digestive and sustainable wine.
2017 | Strohmeier TLZ Sonne Nº8 2017 is an orange wine with a slightly amber colour and aromatic notes of acacia and citrus. On the palate it is balanced, subtle and fine. It reveals medium acidity and a lot of vitality. |
