About Solagüen Crianza

Solagüen Crianza is a red wine from the D.O La Rioja produced by the winery Solagüen, belonging to the group Bodegas Labastida. This is a monovarietal form the grape Tempranillo, the most typical grape from La Rioja.

The selected grapes for Solagüen Crianza originate from vines that are 30 years of age and grow in vase. The vineyards are located at 450 to 550 meters of altitude and the harvest is completed by hand.

On entry to the winery, the grapes are destemmed and macerated at 8ºC. This process lasts for 120 hours.

Solagüen Crianza subsequently, receives the alcoholic fermentation process at a temperature constantly below 26ºC.
Solagüen Crianza rests for a period of 12 months in 3rd year American oak and 2nd year French oak barrels.

The blending of the grapes is performed after the ageing process, the wine is then left to rest in the bottle before being sold on the market.

2012 Tasty and strong. Undertones of red fruit, liquorice and cacao. Good volume and a correct acidity level. Intense and persistent finish.

Dark cherry color with violet undertones.

Red fruits, cocoa, licorice, some spice and liquors. Fruit notes predominate compared to wood, hardly perceptible.
