About Pago de Otazu

Pago de Otazu is a red wine from the D.O. Pago de Otazu made by the Otazu winery.

This winery lies in Etxauri between the Sierra del Perdón and the Sierra de Etxauri (Pamplona). Since 2009, their wines have had the honour of being recognised as “Single-plot wines”, a category that sets apart unique and high-quality projects.

Pago de Otazu is made from the Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvingnon and Merlot varieties. The grapes come from 115 ha of the winery’s own vineyard planted on stony and clayey soil.

The harvest is carried out manually at night in small 15 kg baskets.

To make the wine, the grapes cold-macerate for a minimum of a week. Following a traditional vinification process, the wine is aged for 15 months in new French Allier oak barrels and 18 months in the bottle.

Good red cherry colour with violet reflections. Very bright wine with good tears.
