About Remírez de Ganuza Reserva
Remírez de Ganuza Reserva is the first wine to come from Bodega Remírez de Ganuza , one of the pioneers in the production of wines from La Rioja.
It has all the elegance, harmony, expertise and experience of the winery and, despite its youth, Remírez Ganuza has already become a winery of reference in La Rioja.
As for the production Remírez de Ganuza Reserva is made from different varieties Tempranillo, Graciano and skins of Viura and Malvasía grown from vines that are more than 60 years old.
Harvesting is done manually in 12 kg boxes.
After the fermentation, the grapes are kept in cold storage for 24 hours at 4-6 degrees.
The grapes goes through a sorting table where different parts of the grape bunches are separated. For the production of this wine they use the shoulders, upper most part of the bunch that is exposed to sun, and therefore, the ripest.
The fermentation process takes place in small stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels, the malolactic fermentation occurs in new barrels.
Aging takes place for 24 months in new oak barrels (80% French oak and 20% American oak).
We recommend that you decant this one hour before enjoying this great wine from La Rioja.
2014 | Remírez de Ganuza Reserva 2014 is a harmonious and sophisticated red. The bouquet is enticing, with hints of licorice and currants. On the palate, it is expansive and flavorsome, boasting a solid structure. The tannins are finely honed. It culminates in a prolonged and subtle finish. |

2006 | Very nice attack and silky, velvety, very lively mid palate. Great aromatic and refreshing acidity. It shows noticeable but ripe and polished tannins. Very long and persistent finish. The aromas felt at retro-nasal olfaction, reminiscent of flowers fruit, spices and toasted notes invite to have a second helping. This is an elegant, tasty and pleasant round red wine. Clean and bright ruby red colour. It shows thin and unctuous uniform tears. Clean and pure, complex and intense nasal aromas. Impeccable. Its aromas of red fruit stand out and evolve into black fruit as the wine opens up. Its notes of flowers, its complex and noble toasted aromas, its sweet spices, mentholated hints and a nice mineral background round out this aromatic set. |

2005 | Elegant and refined wine from La Rioja with a very soft, velvety and delicious mid palate. Its very tasty notes of fruit, almost sweet, are well combined with sweet toasted notes, spices and cocoa. Mild acidity that provides it with a nice freshness. Polished tannins. Long and lingering aftertaste.
An undoubtedly round wine. Slightly sweeter than the 2004 vintage. Dark cherry colour with maroon touches. Very bright and dense tears. Intense notes of ripe fruit (red and black berries) together with elegant toasted nuances. The wide range of sweet spices such as sweet paprika, vanilla and cinnamon are released along with notes of coffee and cocoa on a subtle mineral background with delicate hints of balsamic aromas. A pleasure of a wine! |
