About Podere Brizio Rosso di Montalcino
Do you love Brunello di Montalcino so much that you can't wait? Are you unable to hold your breath during the two years of oak and four months of bottle ageing required for this wine? Don't worry, because we have the solution to your impatience: Podere Brizio Brunello di Montalcino.
With the same origin as the Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G., but much younger, fresher and livelier, the Rosso di Montalcino D.O.C. is the perfect choice for those who prefer to drink Tuscan wine much sooner, without the need for such a long ageing process. In the case of Podere Brizio Brunello di Montalcino, the red wine rests for only 12 months in the barrel and another three months in the bottle. Much less time than the other option (with a minimum of 24 months in the barrel and six months in the bottle).
As mentioned above, the grapes used to make Podere Brizio Brunello di Montalcino are the same as those used to make all the other Podere Brizio wines. Not every country in the world can boast two different appellations from the same grape. The variety where the miracle happens is Sangiovese, native to this area in the province of Siena (central Italy). The Podere Brizio vineyards are located southwest of the town of Montalcino, 330 to 350 meters above sea level. In front of the sea and the Maremma, the vines face the hottest area of Montalcino, with its sandstone and marl soils, producing concentrated, tannic and well-balanced grapes.
Podere Brizio Brunello di Montalcino is harvested by hand and ferments spontaneously from indigenous yeasts. The aging, much less than with other wines, is 12 months in French oak barrels and at least another 3 months in bottles. The best alternative you can find!
