About Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola Viña El Veneno
Pepe Mendoza Viña El Veneno Casa Agrícola is a red wine created in the D.O. Alicante by the Casa Agrícola winery with Monastrell varietie.
Casa Agrícola is the winery run by the wine grower and oenologistPepe Mendoza. It is a project he launched together with his wife Pepa Agulló with the aim of enhancing the natural attributes of this denomination in the most sustainable and respectful way. And this is clearly demonstrated in the red wine Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola Viña El Veneno.
Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola Viña El Veneno comes from a plot at the foot of a mountain in the interior of the province of Alicante (Villena). A vineyard trained in bush-style on sandy loam soils that is exposed to many hours of sun and very little rain; typical dry weather conditions that preserve and enhance all the qualities of these native varieties. Once the fruit is at its optimum point it is picked by hand and transported in 10 kg boxes.
In the winery, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in small 1,000 kg vats with the berries’ own yeasts. Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola Viña El Veneno is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels before being bottled.
Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola Viña El Veneno consists of a small production produced in a craft style that defines the Mediterranean spirit of the D.O. Alicante in body and soul.
