About Noval Fine Ruby port

Noval Fine Ruby Port is a Port wine, made predominant using the region’s traditional Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca varieties, by Quinta do Noval, in the heart of the Duoro Valley in Portugal.

Quinta do Noval is a centennial winery that started out in 1715. At the end of the 20th century, the phylloxera plague destroyed its vineyards, with only two hectares of vines that were not affected. Over time these plots have become some of the most important in the world.

Noval Fine Ruby Port is made exclusively with “A” quality grapes from native Douro varieties that are vinified by pumping in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The resulting wine is aged for two to three years in oak barrels.

Ruby wines are Port wines under three years old which, because they are younger, have a bright and intense colour, similar to that of a precious stone, which is where the name comes from. Quinta do Noval is currently one of the leading producers and exporters of quality Vinho do Porto.
