A man of strong convictions and humanist values, Sebastian Mouzon is a vintner part of the so-called “third wave” in the Montagne de Reims. As a member of a new generation, he not only carries on the viticultural heritage of his family estate but also embraces innovation through minimal intervention and biodynamic principles. His wines, unembellished and unpretentious, boast a distinctive style, unique and limited in production. They emphatically proclaim quality over quantity.

Among his offerings, Mouzon Leroux L'Atavique Grand Cru Extra Brut is crafted from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes sourced from the exquisite terroirs of Verzy, one of the 17 Grands Crus of Champagne. The estate practices biodynamic agriculture without the use of chemical products that could harm the vineyard. The harvest is done by hand, and once the grapes are pressed, the juice spontaneously ferments with indigenous yeasts. Twenty percent is vinified in oak barrels, and the remaining eighty percent in small vats. The wine then undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, without clarification or filtration, and matures on lees for 32 months. Finally, it is disgorged and then rests in the cellar for an additional six months.
