About Mas Llunes Cercium

Those who have lived in the Empordà know it well: when the Tramuntana blows, nothing remains the same. It is not merely a wind. It is a character, a temperament. An ancient spirit that descends from the Pyrenees and sweeps across the landscape with an almost mythical force. At times, it unsettles you within, while at others, it leaves the sky as clear as freshly polished glass. But it always leaves a mark. A mark that is also imprinted on the wines born under its influence.
Even the Romans called it Cercium, recognising in it an untameable energy capable of sculpting not only the land but also the spirit of those who dwell there.

At Mas Llunes, a family winery deeply rooted in Garriguella, they have learned to coexist with the Tramuntana, to read its signs, to respect it. Their vineyards thrive in rugged soils, where this wind acts as an invisible craftsman: drying moisture, strengthening the vines, and shaping the character of each grape with millennia-old patience.

From this coexistence emerges Mas Llunes Cercium, a robust and elegant red that pays homage to the northern wind. Crafted from garnacha negra, cariñena, syrah, and cabernet sauvignon, each variety ferments separately, at controlled temperatures and with maceration measured with sensory precision. The malolactic fermentation takes place in tanks and, before bottling, the wine undergoes only minimal treatments to preserve its essence.

Mas Llunes Cercium is an expression of the landscape, the wind, the natural strength of the Empordà. A wine with soul, intense and balanced. Like a breath of Tramuntana… that leaves an indelible mark.
