Familia Torres Mas de la Rosa Vinyes Velles 2018 is a concentrated red wine with a perfumed, fresh and sensual nose of ripe black fruit, floral notes and warm hints of wood. On the palate it is hedonistic, silky and airy. A very smooth medium-bodied wine with fine-grained velvety tannins, energetic acidity and extremely pure, fresh flavours. This is a limited production of only 2,020 bottles.

About Familia Torres Mas de la Rosa Vinyes Velles

An anthology is a compilation of different works of art that are considered outstanding or relevant by their creator. This is the idea that Miquel Torres Maczassek, CEO of Familia Torres follows with the winery’s eponymous Anthology collection, a selection of the Family’s most emblematic wines that showcase its obsession with revealing the expression of a particular place. A total of five marvellous wines that are capable of explaining the history of a unique place that is worth preserving.

One of these great works is Familia Torres Mas de la Rosa Vinyes Velles, a wine that comes from a unique site with the same name. A prestigious 2-hectare wine-growing area in one of the historic estates of Porrera, in the heart of the D.O.Q. Priorat. A magical enclave growing Garnacha and Cariñena vines over 80 years old at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level. They are cultivated with total care and dedication on the exceptional Llicorella soils that are so typical of the Priorat region. This winery is committed to regenerative viticulture to contribute to carbon fixation, bringing life back to the soil and slowing down erosion. After an exhaustive selection of the best ripe grapes, a slow and respectful vinification process begins in the winery to enhance the purity and uniqueness of the fruit. Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts at a controlled temperature and the wine is aged in a 1,500 litre oak foudre for 16 months so that the wood and alcohol are perfectly integrated.

All of this work results in Familia Torres Mas de la Rosa Vinyes Velles. A limited edition that is one of the best wines from a hundred-year-old Catalan winery, Familia Torres, and is an icon of Priorat.
