About Marqués de Murrieta Dalmau Reserva

Dalmau Reserva is a red wine from the D.O. La Rioja produced by the Marqués de Murrietawinery. This wine is a blend of Tempranillo (79%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) and Graciano (6%).
The grapes used by Dalmau Reserva come from a hundred-year-old vineyard located inFinca Ygay, more specifically in the Canajas Plot.
This is located 465 meters above sea level and has a clay-calcareous soil with a great deal of pebbles.
When the Dalmau Reservaberries have acquired their characteristic color, a thinning —elimination of the surplus grapes— of the bunches is carried out. Production is limited, never exceeding a kilo per plant, and only the highly concentrated small berry bunches are selected.
In the cellar, the different varieties ferment separately at a controlled temperature for eleven days. While he Tempranillo ferment in small stainless steel tanks, the Graciano and the Cabernet Sauvignon do so in small oak barrels.
Before the aging, over-pumping processes are performed to promote the activity of the yeast, and délestage, in order to oxygenate the wine and increase the yeast.
Lastly, Dalmau Reservais aged for 19 months in French oak barrels from Allier, and is refined for another twelve months in the bottle.
Marqués de Murrieta is a historic Rioja winery with more than 150 years of history. The company started out in 1852 as a result of wine exports, and today remains one of the benchmark names on the wine scene.
2011 Sophisticated and robust, profound and well-structured. It exudes strength and harmony, boasting remarkable balance.

Appealing cherry hue with a garnet rim.

Complex and velvety notes are evident. It reveals hints of wild berries along with mineral undertones and dark chocolate nuances. Toasted memories from its time in the barrel linger.
2007 Very good attack, with an elegant, fleshy and taste mid palate. Its acidity and its tannins are very well balanced. Long and very persistent finish, with light bitter hints, reminiscent of fruity, smoky and toasted sensations.

Intense, clean and bright dark cherry red colour.

Clean nasal aromas with a high intensity in which the powerful load of fruity notes are dominant. They are released along with mineral notes, creamy toasted aromas, roasted hints, coffee, spices, cocoa and balsamic notes.
