About Rafael Palacios Louro Godello

Louro is a white wine from Valdeorras developed by Rafael Palacios. This wine is a blend of Godello (92%) and Treixadura (8%).

The vineyards from which the grapes come are arranged in small plots, located in deep terraced hillsides in the Bibei Valley. The soils are granite, with a low yield but an optimal quality.

The selection of clusters is done in the plot is first and on the selection table afterwards. The alcoholic fermentation occurs in French oak vats of 300 litres and 500 litre barrels where Louro is aged in contact with its lees for a period of four months.

Louro is an excellent white wine that stands out for its great value.

Louro 2019 is an aromatic white wine exuding fragrant herbaceous aromas, hints of citrus, and mineral undertones. On the palate, it is vivacious, fruit-forward, and silky. A wine of distinct personality, boasting splendid acidity and a pronounced saline quality.

2017 With Louro 2017 Rafael Palacios has once again succeeded in interpreting the wine of Valdeorras to perfection. With a distinguished nose, revealing white fruit with floral notes, it displays a certain creaminess on the palate with an elegant and very fresh finish.
2014 Creamy and with an excellent acidity, deep and fresh. Structured, has a long finish with saline notes.

Straw yellow with green and golden hues. It is very clean and bright.

Good intensity, fresh and balanced. Aromas of white fruit accompanied by subtle floral notes. Citrus and herbal notes on a mineral background.
2013 Medium-bodied. Unctuous texture and an excellent, integrated, fresh and deep acidity which gives the wine structure and length. Long finish with marvellous salty notes. A must try!

Pale yellow colour with some greenish and golden reflections. Very clean and very bright.

Good intensity. Clean, fresh, defined, balanced and very enjoyable. Slightly timid at first but after a while shows aromas of white fruit accompanied by subtle floral notes. Once opened out light citrus notes appear, along with herbs, hay and fennel, which prevail over a mineral background.
2012 In the mouth, this medium-bodied wine shows a mid palate marked by an unctuous texture and an excellent, integrated, deep and fresh acidity which makes it long and structured. Long finish with wonderful saline notes. Do not miss it!

Initially, this wine seems to be shy, but after a while it starts showing aromas of white fruit along with subtle floral notes. After swirling the glass, light citrus aromas appear along with herbal notes, hay and fennel, which stand out on a mineral background.
