About Leirana Albariño
Leirana Albariño is a white wine produced n the D.O Rías Baixas by the winery Forjas del Salnés.
Leirana Albariño is a small family winery located in Salnés (Pontevedra). One of the collaborators is the illustrious oenologist Raúl Pérez from Bierzo, one of the most authoritative voices on the Spanish wine scene.
Leirana Albariño is 100% produced from the variety Albariño. The grapes originate from a 4 hectares of old, 40-70 year old vines, planted in sandy granite soils.
For this traditional production, the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks. Once finalised the wine rests on its lees.
Before being released onto the market, the wine is lightly filtered.
Furthermore, Leirana Albariño is earning a great name for its self. The 2012 vintage was names by the New York Times as the best wine from the D.O Rías Baixas.

Boasts a substantial fruit presence, complemented by savory saline nuances. Superb acidity, sharp and citrusy. The finish is exceptionally prolonged and persistent, leaving behind delicate mineral impressions. An outstanding white wine. Straw yellow hue with slight golden highlights. Clear and exceedingly luminous. Delicate tears. Intense and genuine aromas prevail, with dominant floral notes interwoven with ripe stone and white fruits. An elegant mineral backdrop. Upon aeration, subtle scents emerge, reminiscent of toasted bread and spices. |

2010 | Delicious and complex wine with a nice silky, smooth, very tasty and very fresh mid palate. The notes of fruit and flowers are more balanced than on the nose. Some balsamic notes are also felt. It has an excellent acidity and a very long and persistent finish which leaves subtle mineral sensations.
Very rich, elegant and enjoyable wine. Intense straw yellow colour with golden reflections. Very bright and clean wine with thin glyceric tears. Very frank aromas in which the dominant floral notes are interspersed with a touch of ripe white and stone fruit and herbal aromas (of freshly cut grass and hay) on an elegant mineral background. When it opens up, subtle spicy aromas are noticed. |

2009 | Very fresh attack. Silky, intense, fresh and dry mid palate with a high presence of fruit. Outstanding but not unpleasant acidity, which is very well integrated. Very good finish, which leaves a subtle mineral aftertaste.
A very rich and elegant white wine from the Rias Baixas. A rounded wine. Pale yellow colour with golden reflections. Clean, bright and glyceric wine. Very good and clean aromas. Very floral wine with notes of ripe white fruit, pineapple, citrus and stone fruits (outstanding notes of intense peach) are released along with subtle herbal notes on a mineral background. |
