About Le Petit Gimios Rosé

Le Petit Gimios Rosé is a natural rosé wine that is a coupage of Muscatel and lots other red varieties, produced by Le Petit Domaine de Gimios.

Le Petit Domaine de Gimios is a small winery founded in 1993 by Anne-Marie Lavaysse. She is still working at present, but now has the help of her son Pierre. She started recovering old abandoned plots of Muscatel, and has been incorporating others containing red varieties. She works her vineyards biodynamically and producesnatural wines that are an explosion of fruit and the maximum expression of their terroir.

The vineyards for Le Petit Gimios Rosé are very old, with one that dates back to 1840! They are located quite high up, on rocky soils of clays and limestones and are trained in bush-style. The final wine is co-fermentation in stainless steel tanks of the 16 varieties found in the winery's vineyards. Some varieties are not known, but it is known that Grenache predominates. Also recognisable are Oeillande, Terret Rose, Terret Noir, Terret Blanc, Syrah and Muscat.

Le Petit Gimios Rosé is a fruity and complex rosé from very old vines and almost-forgotten varieties that Anne-Marie Lavaysse is striving to preserve.
2016 Le Petit Gimios Rosé 2016 is a smooth, tasty and floral wine. It expresses citrus fruits, red fruit such as blood orange and pomegranate, and mineral and herbaceous notes. On the palate there is an explosion of fruit and wild things, held together by a fantastic acidity. Ideal for adventurous palates.
