Tasting notes Larmandier-Bernier Latitude Blanc de Blancs
Champagne Extra Brut Respectful agriculture. 24 months in bottle.
Larmandier-Bernier Latitude Blanc de Blancs is an intense and deep champagne that has a light vegetal note of sage or fennel on the nose, accompanied beautifully by fruity apricot notes. On the palate it is broad and powerful, with a good structure where the fruit returns accompanied by a mineral nuance of crushed stone that is typical of the terroir. A champagne that is at its best for drinking straight away but that can also be kept for two or three more years.Style Larmandier-Bernier Latitude Blanc de Blancs

About Larmandier-Bernier Latitude Blanc de Blancs
This cuvée is “non-vintage” because it contains 40% of the wines from the house’s perpetual reserve that started in 2004.
To make the Larmandier-Bernier Latitude Blanc de Blancs Champagne, the grapes are lightly pressed to obtain the must, which is then very slightly clarified and put into Stockinger barrels and vats where alcoholic and malolactic fermentation will begin spontaneously with native yeasts. The wines continue to age with their fine lees for one more year without filtering or refining.
Coupage and tirage take place in the July after the harvest. The bottles are stored in the maison’s cool rooms for their second fermentation and they age stacked for at least two more years. Each bottle is disgorged by hand six months before being sold and a dosage of only 4g/l is added, which results in an extra brut champagne that fully expresses its purity.
Larmandier-Bernier is a well-known Maison de Champagne that works to produce wines that express the terroir they come from, so they work their plots biodynamically, without using pesticides or herbicides and making their wines with their own yeasts to fully reveal the characteristics and potential of the territory and varieties.
