About Lan Xtreme

Lan Xtreme is an organic red wine made from the tempranillo grape variety, crafted by Bodegas LAN in the D.O.Ca. Rioja region.

Bodegas LAN, an acronym derived from the initials of the three provinces that form the D.O.Ca. Rioja (Logroño, Álava, and Navarra), was established in 1972 with the aim of producing wines that are true to their land. Located in Rioja Alta, they oversee more than 4,000 hectares of vineyards, 72 of which belong to their most treasured estate: Viña Lanciano.

All the grapes for Lan Xtreme come from an organic parcel. Sustainable viticulture is practised in the vineyard, enhancing beneficial fauna that naturally protects the vines and eliminates the need for insecticides and herbicides. The harvest is conducted manually and transported immediately to the winery to prevent oxidation or loss of aromas.

When the grapes for Lan Xtreme arrive at the winery, they are sorted by both bunch and berry on a double sorting table. The alcoholic fermentation is carried out over 2 or 3 weeks in stainless steel tanks using the grape's own yeasts. It undergoes ageing for approximately one year in new French oak barrels. Before being released to the market, it is refined in the bottle for less than a year.

Lan Xtreme is an organic red wine that maximally preserves the raw material. It offers an excellent opportunity to savour the essence of 100% Rioja.

Lan Xtreme 2019 exhibits a deep, brilliant red hue. Upon nosing, it reveals aromas of ripe fruits such as blackberries, currants, and strawberries, complemented by spicy hints of cinnamon and pepper, with an undertone of wild aromatic herbs. On the palate, this red wine stands out for its volume and well-defined structure, offering a sweet and fresh flavour that lingers, filled with the same ripe fruits perceived on the nose, creating a prolonged and delightful tasting experience.                      
2015 Lan Xtreme 2015 is an intense wine with aromas of ripe red fruits and hints of vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate it is structured, pleasant and flavoursome.
