About Jérôme Galeyrand Bourgogne Chardonnay Orane

Jérôme Galeyrand Bourgogne Chardonnay Orane is a biodynamic white wine made by Jérôme Galeyrand with the Chardonnay variety in the AOC Bourgogne, in Burgundy (France).

After working at Domaine Alain Burguet in Gevrey-Chambertin and training at the Beaune wine school, Jérôme Galeyrand set up his own winery in 2002 on a 0.5 ha plot in the Côtes de Nuits. Since opening, this winery has become a leading producer in Burgundy and they have expanded their estate to 5.5 hectares spread across five of the most prestigious denominations. As a result, they produce very pure wines with a clear expression of the terroir.

The grapes used to make Jérôme Galeyrand Bourgogne Chardonnay Orane come from various plots spread across the Côtes de Nuits. A total of 0.42 hectares of vines planted on clay and limestone soils that have been organically cultivated using biodynamic treatments since 2008. They only use copper, wettable sulphur, infusions and natural products and every process takes into account the lunar phases.

The harvest is carried out manually and in small boxes, then the Jérôme Galeyrand Bourgogne Chardonnay Orane grapes are pressed whole and a spontaneous fermentation takes place with native yeasts in barrels for 3 to 4 weeks and without adding any oenological products. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels. Finally, it is bottled without being filtered, clarified or adding sulphites.

Created by one of the most renowned minimal intervention winemakers in Burgundy, Jérôme Galeyrand Bourgogne Chardonnay Orane is the result of a top quality terroir, remarkable vines and careful work. A rich and crisp Chardonnay from the heart of Burgundy.

Jérôme Galeyrand Bourgogne Chardonnay Orane 2018 is a white wine with aromas of ripe fruit accompanied by notes of dried fruit. On the palate it is delicate, oily and precise. A wine rich in sensations, with a crisp acidity and a dry and subtly floral finish.
