About Izadi Crianza

If one must speak in terms of value for money, there is only one wine that can be mentioned: Izadi Crianza, a Rioja that will surely please everyone. Still have doubts?
 
The Tempranillo grape and the ageing in American and French oak barrels are part of the success of this crianza produced in the DOCa La Rioja, specifically in the triangle between Villabuena, Samaniego, and Ábalos. Here, the Izadi winery owns 178 hectares with vines over 45 years old growing on clay-limestone soils, which are very poor and abundant in this area of Rioja Alavesa. This latter detail, rather than being a drawback, is considered an advantage, as it results in low yields but of exceptional quality. 
 
The harvest is carried out manually and brought to the winery, located in Villabuena de Álava, where all operations are conducted by gravity. This is achieved thanks to the 50-metre gradient that divides the winery into five different levels. At the highest point, the clusters are received with the utmost care in handling, and an initial selection is made to remove the stalks. After a gentle crushing, Izadi Crianza is transferred to stainless steel tanks where it undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Finally, Izadi Crianza spends about 14 months in American and French oak barrels and rests for more than eight months in the bottle before it can be enjoyed.

2015 Izadi Crianza 2015 is a juicy wine with a certain degree of concentration. It is a modern Crianza with a extra point of ripening and extraction. As a result, we have a wine with prevailing aromas of black fruit, spices and balsamic notes, very pleasant in the mouth.

2007 In the mouth, we find an elegant and balanced Spanish wine with a silky and pleasant mid palate full of notes of fruit. It shows a good acidity and soft ripe tannins. Long finish with fruity and floral aftertaste.

In the nose, this red wine shows a high aromatic intensity with a good balance of the notes of red fruit, liquorice and spices. All of them are combined with smoked and cedar aromas provided during the ageing.
