There are whiskies that seem to travel a great deal before they reach the glass. This one is born by the River Lys in Belgium, and after twelve years of tranquillity, it finds its final destination in casks that once held Amontillado from Jerez. The result is something unexpected: the serenity of the north with a hint of the south, warm and full of character.
 
The story begins in 1880, when Filliers was still a farm distillery surrounded by rural landscape. Today, it remains one of the last active family distilleries in Belgium, preserving the connection between craft, time, and place. Goldlys takes its name from the Lys, the river that runs alongside the distillery and seems to infuse a bit of landscape into every bottle.
 
This limited edition comes from a single cask, number 2655, and combines whisky distilled in both traditional pot stills and column stills. After more than twelve years in oak, the final passage through Amontillado casks imparts a creamier and fruitier dimension, which mingles with toffee, toasted oak, and a backdrop of warm spices. It's a whisky with texture, offering a play between sweetness, wood, and a subtle bitterness that invites you to discover what's behind each layer.
