About Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Monprivato Riserva Cà d’Morissio

Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Monprivato Riserva Cà d'Morissio is a Nebbiolo red wine from the DOCG Barolo, produced by Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio.

Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio is a family winery considered one of the finest producers of Barolo. The family business dates back to 1881 and the family acquired the mythical Monprivato vineyard in 1904, a unique plot of land planted with the excellent Michet clone of the Nebbiolo variety. The winery vinifies in cement tanks coated with epoxy resin and in stainless steel tanks, and ages its wines in Slavonian oak foudres so that the grape and its terroir are fully expressed.

The vineyard for Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Monprivato Riserva Cà d'Morissio is the famous Monprivato, located in the municipality of Castiglione Falleto. The land has been home to vineyards since the 17th century, and some consider it the Italian La Tâche. The wine is made with the grapes from the oldest strains on the plot, which produce the most balanced grape with cleaner and more concentrated compounds.

Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Monprivato Riserva Cà d'Morissio ferment for about 25 days. The wine then undergoes a refining ageing in Slavonian oak foudres for some 40 months, and lastly, to finish assembling, it is not bottled until 6 years after the harvest.

Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Monprivato Riserva Cà d'Morissio is a powerful and elegant wine from an emblematic Italian vineyard.
2010 Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Monprivato Riserva Cà d'Morissio 2010 is a wine with complex, very fruity, elegant and intensely spicy aromas, and is accompanied by floral touches. On the palate it has an excellent body, displays power and is very enveloping. Its finish is very lingering, and in it memories of what is perceived in the nose come to us.
