The Burgundian A.O.C. Irancy, located in the central-eastern part of France, is renowned for the unique amphitheater-like arrangement of its vineyards encircling the village. Within these vineyards, the Le Veaupessiot estate produces Gabin et Félix Richoux Irancy Le Veaupessiot, one of the finest red wines you could ever hope to taste.

Thierry Richoux and his sons, Gabin and Félix, are the masterminds and diligent hands behind this exquisite wine. Together, they represent the latest generation of a family that has been crafting wines since the 17th century, specifically since the year 1620. Since then, they have continuously made their mark, becoming one of the most esteemed surnames in the region. Today, the name Richoux is synonymous with unparalleled quality, the crème de la crème, from a winery where only the finest vintages are released for sale. If a wine does not meet the Richoux family's exacting standards, for whatever reason, that cuvée will never grace the public palate. Only those truly exceptional batches that reflect the essence of the terroir are deemed worthy by this family enterprise. And such distinction is achieved through a straightforward yet profound philosophy: biodynamic cultivation, low yields, manual labor, and prolonged maturation in the cellar. The Le Veaupessiot vineyard, with its old vines fully facing southward and overlooking the Yonne River, is a testament to this approach.

Gabin et Félix Richoux Irancy Le Veaupessiot is harvested and quickly transported to the winery, where the grapes are destemmed and moved to stainless steel tanks to ferment. Before this process begins and the indigenous yeasts start their work, Gabin et Félix Richoux Irancy Le Veaupessiot is allowed to macerate for about three days to extract the fullest spectrum of aromas and flavors possible. Once transformed into wine, it undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged for two years (initially in stainless steel and subsequently in French oak barrels).
