About Foillard Morgon Côte du Py
Foillard Morgon Côte du Py is a single-varietal natural red wine made from Gamay within the AOC Morgon, crafted by Jean Foillard.
Foillard Morgon is a winery in Beaujolais with 14 hectares of vineyard. They cultivate their old vines without chemicals, harvesting late and selecting the best grapes. In the winery, they are committed to producing natural wines that respect the integrity and typicity of the grape.
The vineyard of Foillard Morgon Côte du Py is planted on granite and schist soils on the renowned Morgon slope “Côte du Py”, an iconic vineyard managed naturally, without herbicides or pesticides.
The grapes for Foillard Morgon Côte du Py are chilled before starting the vinification process. Whole clusters are placed in vats for carbonic maceration, and the final wine is aged for 6 to 9 months in used oak barrels to preserve its character. During production, no oenological products are added, and chaptalization is avoided, meaning no sugars are added to ferment and increase the alcohol content. Foillard Morgon always uses the minimum amount of sulfur and bottles without fining or filtration.
