About Flor de Vetus Verdejo

According to the data collected during the 2022 harvest, DO. Rueda encompasses a total of 20,724 hectares distributed across Valladolid, Ávila, and Segovia. It is precisely in this latter area, among the towns of Rueda, Serrada, and La Seca—in the westernmost region—where the plots are located that give birth to Flor de Vetus Verdejo, a white wine that will become an essential addition to your cellar.

As expected, verdejo will be the variety used to produce this wine. Specifically, the clusters of Flor de Vetus Verdejo are cultivated in micro-plots planted on sandy soils, at altitudes ranging from 810 to 930 metres. Grown entirely using traditional methods and without any machinery, Flor de Vetus Verdejo thrives under a continental climate, with dry, hot summers and long, bitterly cold winters. Regardless, nothing disrupts the growth and development of this variety, which was planted by the Mozarabs in the 11th century.

After manual harvesting, Flor de Vetus Verdejo arrives at the winery and is destemmed before being pressed to extract the must. This juice is then transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Once the yeast has completed its work, Flor de Vetus Verdejo is filtered and classified using cold techniques before being bottled. And it's ready!

From the soils of its plots to its production process, everything about Flor de Vetus Verdejo is spectacular. Try it for yourself. We are confident that, in the end, you will agree with us.
