About Ferraton Viognier Collines Rhodaniennes

Ferraton Viognier Collines Rhodaniennes is a single-variety Viognier white wine aged on lees and produced by Ferraton Père & Fils in the IGP Collines Rhodaniennes, in the Rhone (France). 
 
 
Ferraton Père & Fils is one of the most prestigious wineries in the Rhone Valley (France). It was set up by Jean Örens Ferraton in 1946 and became what it is today through collaboration with his friend Michel Chapoutier in 2006. Their wines are inspired by the great classics of the Rhone Valley but with a new and fresh edge. 
 
 
Made from vineyards planted on the slopes of Cornas and Saint-Joseph, Ferraton Viognier Collines Rhodaniennes is a Viognier from the north of the Rhône. The vines grow in decomposed granite soil and enjoy big temperature contrasts between day and night, which is typical of the continental climate. They are cultivated using traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. 
 
 
 
In the winery, once the Ferraton Viognier Collines Rhodaniennes grapes are destemmed, they go through light pressing with cold settling for 48 hours. Fermentation then begins with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and finally ages for a short period in these same tanks.
