Esperit Roca Esperit de Cacau is an elixir, pure chocolate concentration. Old gold in colour, the nose immediately captures very intense roasted cocoa aromas, which continue on the palate with a bitter touch of nuts and almonds.
About Esperit Roca Esperit de Cacau 50cl.
The sommelier Josep Roca’s fascination for liqueurs and spirits comes from his childhood. His parents had a bar, and he was fascinated by this world of bottles, aromas and flavours. This fascination, which they have been working on and researching for years, has now led to Esperit Roca, a new project where the brothers have dared to venture into the world of spirits by “bottling landscapes”. In this way, the places that hold a special meaning for the brothers are collected in two different ranges: the Paratge and the Cacau. The latter is what Esperit Roca Esperit de Cacau is part of.
The long maceration of cocoa from Hacienda Victoria (in Ecuador), distillation in copper stills and other final macerations are key to the production of Esperit Roca Esperit de Cacau. Specifically, this liqueur has been developed in collaboration with Casa Cacao, the chocolate factory of El Celler de Can Roca, where Jordi does his work. However, the collaboration between the brothers does not stop here, because the ultimate goal of the Esperit Roca project is to consider liquids and beverages as another part of the cuisine, on the same level as the dishes that Joan Roca prepares in the family restaurant. A challenge without a doubt. In all this work, the Roca brothers have had the collaboration and help of Evarist March, an expert and botanist who has spent more than seven years immersed in research and various projects where drinks and liquors become the protagonists of the table.
