About E. Guigal Hermitage Blanc

E. Guigal Hermitage is a monovarietal Syrah red wine from the AOC Hermitage. It is produced by Domaine E. Guigal.

Domaine E. Guigal is a winery inAmpuis founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal. It is currently run by Philippe Guigal, the third generation of the family, who is also the brand's first oenologist. Three of its wines, La Mouline, La Landonne and La Turque, have achieved 100 Parker points in different vintages.

The vineyards for Syrah del E. Guigal Hermitage have an average age of 40 years and are found in soils of limestone, clay, silt and sandy gravel. Their average yield is 35 hectolitres per hectare. The climate in the area is Mediterranean, warm and dry.

E. Guigal Hermitage is fermented at a controlled temperature and macerated with the skins for 4 weeks. Once the wine is vinified it undergoes a refining ageing in barrels, 50% of which are new, for a period of 36 to 40 months.

E. Guigal Hermitage is a Syrah from the Rhone with aromas of violet and red berries, together with oak notes, and that is powerful and complex on the palate.
