About Dominio de Elbio Salvio

Few wine regions in the world boast what is known as a "magic triangle," a concept used to describe areas where exceptional soil, climate, and tradition converge, resulting in the creation of wines of unparalleled quality. Among the most notable examples of this category are areas such as Ribera del Duero in Spain, where the triangle formed by the localities of La Horra, Anguix, and Roa has proven to be pivotal in producing some of the country's finest wines. Here, the combination of limestone and clay soils with a harsh continental climate allows varieties like tempranillo to reach their fullest expression. This is how Dominio de Elbio, an estate belonging to Grupo Chivite, showcases the most authentic terroir of the Ribera del Duero with a creative and contemporary approach.

Its wine, Dominio de Elbio Salvio, originates from a vineyard in the municipality of La Horra, within the aforementioned "magic triangle," surrounded by marvellous nature and biodiversity. A blend of tinto fino, merlot, and cabernet sauvignon, whose vines are planted in clay-limestone soils rich in iron and limestone at an altitude of 860 metres, where traditional practices are upheld. In the winery, the grapes are meticulously selected to commence the vinification process with controlled fermentation. Subsequently, the wine ages for 3 months in second-use French oak barrels, allowing for micro-oxygenation that imparts depth and complexity without masking the wine's natural freshness.

With a beautiful label adorned with the image of a "magic bird," Dominio de Elbio Salvio presents itself as a wine born from the alchemy of the vineyard's biodiversity and the winemaker David González's passion for nature. A modern and refined expression of a magical terroir.
