Six generations embody a significant legacy of maintaining a work philosophy. Therefore, when Joannès Violot-Guillemard takes the helm at the exquisite family estate in Pommard, Burgundy (France), his aim is not to alter the winery's course at any point. Yet, his new generation contributions, where the pursuit of harmony is relentless, chart a fresh course for the winery. Eschewing yeasts, reverse osmosis, excessive technical interventions, and too much wood to avoid altering the wine's flavor, he infuses a new vigor into the project, resulting in wines of truly exceptional charm and delicacy.

Specifically, Domaine Violot-Guillemard Pommard 1er Cru Les Arvelets is a red wine made from pinot noir harvested from a small 0.31-hectare plot composed of clay-limestone soil interspersed with pebbles and red clay and has been organically certified since 1999. Following manual harvesting, vinification begins with a pre-fermentation cold soak for 5-6 days and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in wooden vats. Subsequently, the wine matures in wood for 18 months, of which 65% is new oak barrels.

Starting with the premise that great wines can only emerge from the finest grapes and placing the utmost emphasis on vineyard care, Domaine Violot-Guillemard Pommard 1er Cru Les Arvelets faithfully reflects this small 1er Cru plot and invites one to enjoy the genuine expression of Burgundy's terroir.
