Domaine Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea is a biodynamic red wine made by Domaine Trapet in the AOC Gevrey-Chambertin (Burgundy) with the Pinot Noir variety.

Domaine Trapet began his winemaking career in 1870 with the help of Arthur Trapet. A family winery with a long history in the heart of the Côte-d'Or, in Gevrey-Chambertin with vineyards in the most prestigious Grands Crus. It is currently run by Jean-Louis Traper, one of the most renowned winemakers in Burgundy and a pioneer of using biodynamic agriculture in all his vineyards. As a result, their wines are characterised by their great purity, finesse and elegance.

Certified by Biodivin since 1998 and Demeter since 2005, the Domaine Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea vineyards are the oldest on the property. Planted in 1913, they are located in Gevrey-Chambertin, one of Burgundy’s most famous areas. 2 hectares spread over 4 plots with very diverse terroirs of marl and gravel. The vines are cultivated using biodynamic agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

In the winery, the Domaine Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea wine is produced according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture. This begins with a partial destemming and a cold pre-fermentation maceration. It then ferments spontaneously with native yeasts in open vats and with minimal sulphur. The wine is then left to mature in French oak barrels.

Domaine Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea is a biodynamic red wine with a refined, fresh and dynamic profile that gives a great insight into the prestigious Gevrey-Chambertin soils cultivated by one of the most talented biodynamic winemakers in Burgundy.

Domaine Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea 2017 is a smooth red wine with complex aromas of raspberry, chalk and limestone. On the palate it is smooth and silky. A medium-bodied wine, with ripe tannins and a fresh acidity. The finish is mineral and long.
