About Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé

Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé is a biodynamic rosé wine made by Domaine Tempier with the Monastrell, Garnacha Blanca and Cinsault varieties in the AOC Bandol, a denomination of the French region of Provence. 
 
Domaine Tempier is one of the most renowned wineries in Provence. Located in the town of Badol, its history dates back to the 18th century. But the winery did not gain the prestige it has now until Lucien Peyroud came along. He replanted the vineyards with the Monastrell, Cinsault and Garnacha varieties, and then his son Jean-Mari Peyroud began to produce different cuvées by plot. 
 
Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé comes from vineyards located between Marseille and Toulon. Planted on the terraced slopes of a natural amphitheatre that descends to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, these vines have an average age of 20 years old and are rooted on clayey-calcareous soils. They are cultivated using biodynamic agriculture with plant-based preparations and taking into account the lunar phases in each of the processes. 
 
In the winery, the Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé grapes go through a skin-contact maceration and, after direct pressing, the must is allowed to settle at a low temperature. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in concrete tanks with native yeasts. Finally, it ages in these same tanks for 6-8 months before being bottled.
 
One of the great rosés according to Robert Parker, Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé surprisingly combines complexity and freshness. A deep and elegant wine with a spectacular potential for bottle aging.
