Domaine de la Vougeraie Chambolle Musigny is a single varietal Pinot Noir red wine produced by Domaine de la Vougeraie under the AOC Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy, France.
The grapes used to makeDomaine de la Vougeraie Chambolle Musigny wine are grown in different plots located between Vougeot and Morey-Saint-Denis: Les Véroilles, Les Argillères, the famous Les Baudes, Les Condemennes and Les Chardannes, where red clay appears (a rare material on the Côte de Nuits, and which gives rise to delicate wines).
25% of the harvest is vinified whole. A cold pre-fermentation maceration is carried out for five days and a total maceration of 23 days. Alcoholic fermentation then takes place with native yeasts. The resulting wine is aged for one month in stainless steel tanks plus 16 months ageing in oak barrels, 40% of which are new use. The wine is filtered slightly before bottling.
At Domaine de la Vougeraie, they work under a demanding philosophy that starts from the decision to choose organic viticulture for looking after the vineyards, also promoting the search for plots with living soils which give rise to wines full of purity. This philosophy has given way to the application of biodynamic principles, which allow both a more holistic awareness of the terroir and the revelation of the extraordinary potential of the plots on the Domaine.
2017 | Domaine de la Vougeraie Chambolle Musigny 2017 is a red wine which on the nose offers aromas reminiscent of raspberries and cherries accompanied by a balsamic note. On the palate, it’s smooth and fruity, with a balanced and elegant acidity. A very round, delicate and pure red wine. |
