Condado de Oriza Reserva is a red wine made with the
Tinta del País (Tempranillo) variety by
Pagos del Rey in
Olmedillo de Roa,
Ribera del Duero.
The Solís family, owners of
Pagos del Rey, has 70 hectares of vineyard in the area and works with some 450 farmers from whom it buys the grapes. In total it controls 1,600 hectares of vineyards, has an annual production capacity of nine million litres and has a total of 10,000 barrels.
The
Condado de Oriza Reserva vineyards are over 20 years old and are located around Omedillo de Roa, in Burgos.
To prepare
Condado de Oriza Reserva, the best grapes are selected and a pre-fermentation maceration is performed for 5 days. Alcoholic fermentation then takes place at a controlled temperature of between 26 and 28 ºC to achieve maximum varietal expression. Lastly it is aged in French and American oak barrels for 24 months and then remains in the bottle for 12 months to complete its ageing before going on the market.
Condado de Oriza Reserva is a wine that is complex yet harmonious as a whole. A pleasant wine suitable for a host of occasions.
