Claude Courtois Les Cailloux du Paradis Racines Blanc is a natural, ecological and biodynamic barrel-aged white wine made by Les Cailloux du Paradis in Loire (France) with the Chardonnay, Romorantin, Sauvignon Blanc and Menu Pineau varieties.

Les Cailloux du Paradis is run by Claude Courtois and his son. An unusual winery that leaves conventions behind and is popular among natural wine enthusiasts. The project began in the early 90s when they settled on some abandoned vineyards in the French town of Soings-en-Sologne. A total of 13 hectares where they use biodynamic and ecological methods to revitalise the soils and grow a great variety of grapes, some of which are unknown.

Claude Courtois Les Cailloux du Paradis Racines Blanc comes from ecologically-cultivated vineyards, where no chemicals are used and where the soil is full of microorganisms and surrounded by a rich natural environment with forests, flower fields and animals. The yields are very low (20 to 22hl) and the harvest is manual.

The Claude Courtois Les Cailloux du Paradis Racines Blanc wine is vinified with minimal intervention. A great cuvée of four white varieties that ferment spontaneously with native yeasts. The resulting wine ages in wooden barrels.

2016 Claude Courtois Les Cailloux du Paradis Racines Blanc 2016 is a white wine with intense yellow fruit, herbs and undergrowth on the nose. On the palate it is powerful, generous and complex. It has flavours of ripe yellow fruit, well integrated acidity and a final bitter touch.
