About Château Lafleur Gazin

Château Lafleur Gazin is a red wine that is 85% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc from the AOC Pomerol, Bordeaux. It is produced by Jean Pierre Moueix.

Chateau Lafleur has been run by Jean Pierre Moueix since 1976. The chateau is located on the Pomerol plateau. It is located between Château Lafleur and Château Gazin.

The vineyards for Château Lafleur Gazin cover an area of 8.5 hectares. Its soils are gravel, clay and silt. They are farmed according to the climatic conditions of each vintage, and have an average age of 30 years.

The Château Lafleur Gazin harvest is collected manually and subjected to a double selection: manual and visual. It is fermented in cement tanks and stainless steel tanks with temperature control. Once vinified, it ages in French oak barrels, 30-40% of which are new, for a period of 16 to 22 months.

Château Lafleur Gazin is a good wine as an introduction to Merlot de Pomerol, being an accessible wine at a moderate price.

2015 On the nose Château Lafleur gazin 2015 is characterised by its aromas of black fruit on a vegetable and balsamic background that gives way to toast, coffee, spices and smoke, plus mineral notes (tar) and those of pipe tobacco. Very elegant on the nose. On the palate it is velvety but lively. It is a lingering wine.
2014 Château Lafleur Gazin 2014 has a lively nose, with aromas of blueberries, cherries and plums accompanied by touches of smoke. On the palate it has a good body, a good tannic texture and a bright and juicy finish.
