Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2022 is a concentrated red wine with complex aromas of ripe black fruit intertwined with notes of chocolate, spicy hints, and mineral touches. On the palate, it is smooth, broad, and elegant. A very silky wine with a present acidity, well-integrated tannins, and a long and deeply persistent finish.

About Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is a wood-aged red wine made by Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste using Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes in the AOC Pauillac, Bordeaux (France). 
 
The Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste winery lies within the Pauillac denomination of France’s Bordeaux region. The name, which features in documents dating back to the Middle Ages, comes from Grand Puy, the low gravel hill, which is owned by the estate. This is also the name given to the wine they produce, which is a “5eme cru”. According to some experts, this classification does not accurately represent the great work of the Borie family, the current owners.
 
Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste comes from a total of 58 hectares with vines aged 40 years old on average, planted on very deep coarse gravel soils. Traditional agriculture is practiced with a completely manual harvest and selection in the vineyard. 
 
In the winery, the Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste grapes undergo a second sorting process and they are destemmed. After crushing, the grapes are macerated with the skins for 3 weeks. The wine then ages for 16-18 months in French oak barrels, 75% of which are new.
 
The Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste red wine starts life in one of the 18 vineyards marked as Cinquièmes Crus in the Official Bordeaux Wine Classification of 1855. Richness, complexity and elegance from the heart of the AOC Pauillac.
