About Campo Viejo Gran Reserva

Campo Viejo Gran Reserva is a red wine from the D.O La Rioja produced by Campo Viejo. This wine is a blend of 3 different grape varieties: Tempranillo (85%), Graciano (10%) and Mazuelo (5%).

The graps used to make Campo Viejo Gran Reserva come from various vineyards that belong to the winery. These are located in different areas within the D.O. La Rioja: Rioja Alavesa, Rioja Alta and Rioja Baja. The harvest, as well as the various winemaking and manufacturing processes, are carried out using conventional methods.

After being transported to the winery, the grapes for Campo Viejo Gran Reserva ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled and constant temperature of 28ºC. The obtained must the macerates for about 20 days.

Campo Viejo Gran Reserva is then aged for two years in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels. Finally, before being bottled, this wine ages for another 3 more years in the bottle.

Campo Viejo is one of the most well known wineries in the D.O La Rioja. Founded in 1959, the company has gone through successive stages of modernization that have lead to its current success.
