About Ca' Bianca Moscato D'Asti
Ca' Bianca Moscato D'Asti is a sparkling wine made by Ca’ Bianca in Moscato d’Asti (Piedmont) with the Moscatel de Grano Maduro variety.
Of all the wineries in the prestigious Piedmont wine region, Ca’ Bianca is one of the best known. It was set up in 1950 in the Alessandria town of Alice Bel Colle. With 40 hectares of vineyards, they are able to produce a wide and varied range of high quality wines.
Ca’ Bianca Moscato D’Asti grapes come from vineyards in the Alto Monferrato at 350 metres above sea level, on soils composed of sedimentary loam and clay. The yield is limited to 60 hl of wine per hectare with a planting density that does not exceed 4,500 strains per hectare. They use respectful agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
In the winery, the Ca’ Bianca Moscato D’Asti grape is gently pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature. This process stops at about 5%, with the aim of leaving a pleasant level of natural residual sugar in the wine.
Ca’ Bianca Moscato D’Asti is a low-percentage sparkling wine (5%) that might look still in the bottle, but it is just sparkling enough to be considered a sparkling wine.
