Cava Brut. 24 months in bottle.

Bohigas Brut Reserva exhibits a pale yellow hue with delicate bubbles that form a continuous string and a persistent mousse. On the nose, the freshness of tart apple and pear is prominent, accompanied by hints of citrus peel and white flowers. There are also spicy nuances of cinnamon and biscuit that add complexity. On the palate, it is a well-structured cava, with a balanced acidity and a creamy effervescence that imparts smoothness. Its finish is fresh and harmonious, leaving a pleasant aftertaste of fruit and spices.

About Bohigas Brut Reserva

If there is one thing that defines Cava, a designation of origin born in the heart of Penedès, it is its wholehearted dedication to the production of sparkling wines. This region, which could well be called the land of "caveros," has such a close connection with cava that there is no inhabitant who is not somehow related to this magical drink, crafted using the traditional méthode champenoise. It is a legacy passed down from generation to generation, an art that has evolved but always with the same passion that has made cava a worldwide benchmark.
One of the families that has faithfully followed this tradition is the Bohigas family. Historical documents dating back to 1540 already mention their estate, Can Macià, in the municipality of Òdena (Catalonia), a place dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards and wine production. However, it was in 1973 that Fermí Bohigas decided to specialise the winery in the production of cava, and since then, Caves Bohigas has been a true reference in the region, with more than four centuries of history.
One of the winery's most emblematic products is Bohigas Brut Reserva, a cava crafted from the traditional varieties macabeo, xarel·lo, and parellada, sourced from old vineyards about 50 years of age on clay soils. The harvest is carried out meticulously, and once in the winery, the must is pressed and undergoes a first fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Then, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle with a minimum lees ageing of two years, resulting in a superior quality cava, full of character and with great aromatic complexity.
As one of the greatest ambassadors of Penedès, Bohigas Brut Reserva is history, tradition, family, and a profound love for the land. A true masterpiece that embodies genuine passion for the craft.
