About Bestué Garnacha Rosado
If there is anyone to thank for the development and recognition that the D.O. Somontano currently enjoys, it is undoubtedly the Otto Bestué winery. Three centuries of work. No more, no less. 300 years in which this family business has dedicated its all to winemaking at the foot of the Pyrenees, in the heart of Huesca, in the village of Enate. Some of these bottles are still being made today, like Bestué Garnacha Rosado.
Otto Bestué continues to write its story on the 45 hectares that are part of his property. All of them with a mixture of soils. All of them interesting. All of them an enigma that only time and the experience of this family have been able to decipher and understand. The piece of the puzzle that is Bestué Garnacha Rosado comes from soils of silts, clays, gravels and sands. This blend gives the Garnacha a fresher and lighter profile, ensuring a tasty and very rich acidity.
The Garnacha, which is the typical variety of the D.O. Somontano, is harvested between mid and late August. All this work, which has always been hard and demanding, is done in the early hours of the morning in order to make it less intense (avoiding the hottest hours) and ensuring that the grapes arrive at the winery in the best possible condition. As for the production process, Bestué Garnacha Rosado is a special wine, because the must is obtained through two processes: by directly pressing the grapes; and also through the devatting of the grape pulp that has been macerating already (for about ten hours). Both types of must are blended and transferred to stainless steel tanks to begin fermentation.
After filtering and bottling, Bestué Garnacha Rosé goes on sale, becoming one of the best representatives that the D.O. Somontano has to offer.
2023 | Bestué Garnacha Rosado 2023 is a rosé wine that captivates with its bright strawberry hue and its exuberant character. As one brings it closer to the nose, a bouquet of fresh cherries, ripe strawberries, and an assortment of forest fruits unfolds, reminiscent of a stroll through the wilderness. On the palate, its lightness and crispness are delightful, with a subtle hint of confectionery that renders it pleasant and easy to drink. Ideal for savoring at any moment when you seek a refreshing and fruity quaff. |
|
2022 | Bestué Garnacha Rosé 2022 is a fresh, clear and very attractive rosé. It is strawberry pink in colour with purplish glints. The nose is complex and intense, with fruity aromas (strawberries, cherries, berries) and hints of sweets. The palate is refreshing and unctuous, with a very tasty acidity. Acidic and vibrant finish. |
