About Begali Monte Cà Bianca Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Reserva

With the aim of defending the traditional and high-quality production methods of amarone, one of Italy's most prestigious and renowned wines, produced in the Valpolicella region of Veneto, a select group of wineries joined forces to create Famiglie Storiche. This exclusive association, formed in 2009, currently comprises 13 wineries dedicated to protecting the designation of origin and promoting this iconic wine internationally. Among them, naturally, is Begali, one of the most representative wineries of the region, which over three generations has positioned itself as one of the finest in Valpolicella. Located in a small village called Cengia, in the heart of the classic Valpolicella, it remains faithful to tradition in every process, from working in the fields to operations in the winery, ensuring that each bottle faithfully represents the legacy and winemaking tradition of the region.

With 12 hectares of vineyards halfway between the city of Verona and Lake Garda, they present us with great local benchmarks such as this Begali Monte Cà Bianca Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva. A blend made from the indigenous varieties corvina, corvinone, rondinella, and oseleta from vines planted on slopes and with the traditional pergola structure. Low and natural yields are maintained through respectful agriculture, and the harvest is done manually at the optimal moment of ripeness. The selected grapes are left to dry at a controlled temperature and then carefully pressed to initiate vinification, which requires aging for about 4 years in barrels and a rest in the bottle for at least 8 months before being released to the market.

Considering that when we think of amarone, we think of density, if Begali Monte Cà Bianca Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva stands out for anything, it is for its great balance and freshness. A quintessential amarone that captivates.
