About Bassus Pinot Noir

Bassus Pinot Noir is a red wine from Utiel-Requena produced by Bodegas Hispano-Suiza.

The winery is located in Requena (Valencia) and aims to become an alternative between the development of commercial wines and independent winemakers. Bassus Pinot Noir as the name suggests, is made from 100% of the French variety Pinot Noir. The grapes come from vineyards with a yield of 4000kg per hectare planted on chalky, clay soils.

The grapes are harvested by hand in the early hours of the day and transported to the winery in 15kg boxes. Once in the winery the grapes are macerated at 8 ° C for 4 days. Then the juice ferments at 26 ° C for 15 days.

Finally, Bassus Pinot Noir ages for 10 months in Allier French oak barrels and undergoes a light filtration before bottling.
