About Itsasmendi Artizar

Itsasmendi Artizar is a white wine from the DO. Bizkaiko Txakolina produced by the Itsasmendi winery. This wine is made using only Hondarribi Zuri grapes.

The grapes used to make this wine were grown back in 1989, on vineyards that are home to shale and sandstone soils. The region has an Atlantic climate, which is mild for much of the year, although there is plenty of rainfall.

The harvest and various phases of the winemaking process are carried out using traditional methods, drawing on the years of experience that the winery’s team has in the industry. This wine then ferments in 2,000 litre French oak vats, before ageing in the same container on its lees for another 8 months (although this can vary slightly depending on the vintage).

The result is an elegant and complex wine, a fantastic representation of the DO. Bizkaiko Txakolina.

Itsasmendi, founded in 1989, is currently located in the town of Gernika.

Itsasmendi Artizar 2016 is a white wine sculpted with aromas of ripe fruit, hints of yellow fruit and balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is powerful, vibrant, and full-bodied. The finish is extensive and enduring.
2012 Crisp and well-defined, seamlessly blending fruity nuances.

Straw yellow with golden and greenish highlights.

Notes of white fruit, predominantly apple, complemented by herbal undertones and white floral accents.
