About Amigos del Tiempo El Morisco

They say that true friends can be counted on one hand. And it is true, good friends are few but invaluable. True friends are cherished and preserved over time. They are the ones with whom we share laughter, unforgettable moments, and, of course, a glass of wine. It is with this very spirit that Raúl Pérez, one of the most prominent winemakers in contemporary Spanish wine, has embarked on a project in the high hills of the Gredos mountains in Ávila, under the name Amigos del Tiempo. This initiative combines time, patience, and dedication to produce brilliant, fresh, and profound wines.

In the case of Amigos del Tiempo El Morisco, it originates from a small plot of garnacha vines over 100 years old, located on the border of Navarrevisca and Villanueva de Ávila in Ávila (Castilla y León). These old vines are planted on granite soil at 1,100 meters above sea level, cultivated organically and manually, with harvesting taking up to 3 days to complete. In the winery, the grapes ferment in 2,500-litre oak vats with native yeasts for about one month. Afterwards, the wine ages in 1,000-litre French oak barrels for 12 months and finally spends 1 year in the bottle before being released.

From the vineyard to the winery, Amigos del Tiempo El Morisco is a masterpiece crafted with patience and dedication. A wine that, much like a good friendship, enriches and matures over time.
