About Albet i Noya Les Nords Extra Brut

What if Penedès also had a fresher, more serene and surprising side? Albet i Noya Les Nords is a sparkling wine born on the shady slopes of the Ordal mountains, where the grapes ripen slowly and the Mediterranean landscape becomes cooler. The result is a fine and elegant Clàssic Penedès, one that changes our perception of the bubbles from this region.
 
The story of Albet i Noya also has a touch of nonconformity. The family arrived at Can Vendrell de la Codina (Alt Penedès, Barcelona) in 1903, and several generations later, in 1978, they became pioneers of organic viticulture in Spain. Since then, respect for the land has been integral to their approach to wine, with their own vineyards in the Ordal Mountains and an eye also on the future.
 
Macabeo, Xarel·lo and a small touch of Chardonnay find an especially delicate expression here. Hand harvesting, slow fermentation and extended lees ageing in the bottle refine a sparkling wine with fine bubbles, freshness and subtlety, with an acidity that gives it rhythm and a texture that invites further sipping. Three years of waiting that are noticeable, yet without making a fuss.
 
Albet i Noya Les Nords is a bottle to open when you feel like celebrating without waiting for a special date, to accompany something delicious or simply to bring a bit of joy to the table.
