About Giboulot Côtes de Beaune Pierre Blanches Rouge

In 1970, his father, Paul Giboulot, was a trailblazer in organic viticulture. At that time, Emmanuel Giboulot was only nine years old; yet, he quickly grasped the essence of the practice. About fifteen years later, this pioneer not only took up the mantle but also dared to enhance it by advancing towards biodynamic agriculture. This earned him the well-deserved reputation of being one of the most intriguing producers in the A.O.C. Beaune. All his creations are rooted in natural principles, where nothing but the sweat and strenuous effort of the vigneron are allowed in the vineyard, ensuring the utmost respect for the life of each plant and creature, no matter how small. Today, Emmanuel releases a wide array of wines. If we had to recommend just one, it would undoubtedly be Giboulot Côtes de Beaune Pierre Blanches Rouge.

Giboulot Côtes de Beaune Pierre Blanches Rouge originates from a portion of the 12 hectares that Emmanuel Giboulot owns in the A.O.C. Beaune, in Burgundy. What's truly exhilarating about each of this winemaker's vintages is that no two are ever the same. Always adhering to a 'less is more' philosophy, Emmanuel allows the vineyard to showcase its character and express itself with complete freedom. His touch is almost imperceptible, limited to performing only the essential tasks required by the pinot noir vines used to produce this red wine. What he does strictly control, and utterly prohibits, is the use of chemicals and pesticides that could disrupt the vineyard's biodiversity and natural rhythms. This resolve is so strong that he even took the matter to court, refusing to spray his vineyards with pesticides despite a directive from the local authorities. In this regard, Emmanuel Gibulot is unwavering, and for that, we are profoundly grateful. Otherwise, we would not have the pleasure of enjoying Giboulot Côtes de Beaune Pierre Blanches Rouge.

This minimal intervention continues in the cellar, where the use of oak and other materials that might influence the wine is greatly restricted. Nevertheless, Giboulot Côtes de Beaune Pierre Blanches Rouge spends 12 months in barrels, during which time the wine's pronounced mineral character is tempered. It is, without a doubt, one of the finest offerings from Burgundy.
